Valentine’s Day is coming and the theme is Romance on the Horizon!! But you don’t have to wait until Valentine’s Day. The suggestions in this article can be put into action anytime you want to show love!!! There are so many things couples can do to enjoy the day without breaking the bank. These ideas can also be done on other days to spice up your relationship and make wonderful memories. Everyone needs romance!! Either being the one romanced or the one doing the romancing.
Romance means something different to everyone. The key in making a great romantic scenario is knowing what your significant other thinks romance is.

For some women, it is a home cooked meal (one she did not have to prepare). Or maybe your spouse is not a good cook (then a meal picked up from somewhere (preferably her favorite place or her favorite type of food) will say lots. Then serve it to her either in bed or her favorite place to curl up in (with or without you); And especially no chores in her sight reminding her of what still needs to be done). A quiet evening with all of these components and the children at a relatives or friends for the night!!
For some it’s a nice long bubble bath. Others a walk in the rain and then coming home to dry off in front of the fireplace, wrapped in a blanket for two!!! How about a walk on the beach or on a picnic planned in a quiet and/or scenic place. Somewhere she has not been before or her favorite place.

Romance on the Horizon may mean a bike ride for your man. Plan a scenic bike ride with him to some of his favorites places, or discover new places together. Pack a picnic lunch (men love to eat) and stop on the way for some quality romantic time together.
Some men like to cook – plan his favorite meal and do the shopping for all the ingredients and suggest you cook it together! Or make it yourself and if he is not the fancy kind, then serve it with his favorite beverage, on a TV tray in his favorite chair in front of the tv. Remember to wear his favorite outfit or lack thereof so he can take a dessert break!!!
If he likes the fuss, then set a nice table with flowers and candles to set the mood. Your effort will show him that you care and want to make him feel special!!
Another idea!!! We always hear about chick flicks – how about an action flick (or his favorite one) – watching it together while curled up on the couch or in bed!! And of course with popcorn (my husband’s favorite snack food) and some other goodies he enjoys!!

You know even in the animal kingdom, animals pair up and enjoy time together. Cuddling, grooming, walking together!! If they can figure it out, then we certainly can. Communication is the key in any relationship. That means asking questions, sharing information and ideas, and wanting to do so! Any gesture you do for your significant other, if it is in their love language (what they enjoy doing or not doing) then it will be a success.
How about taking a nap together (by the fire, on your favorite couch, in your bed, at the beach, or on a picnic? There are lots of variations on this theme. How about getting a couples massage?

They may have changed over the years. Having this quiet time will benefit you both!!
