This is the easiest chocolate chip cookie recipe. I like it because it can be changed into just about any cookie recipe. I have combined the chocolate chips with butterscotch chips, caramel chips, sea salt caramel chips, white chocolate chips, heath and/or butterscotch chips. It also tastes great by itself, yes raw! ( I know it does have eggs in it, but I am from the old school, where I used to lick the beaters after my grandmother made a cake or cookies.
I have used it as the base for any cookie other than a chocolate chip cookie. You can also make a variety of cookies with this recipe. I have used caramel chips, butterscotch chips, peanut butter chips (with the chocolate chips
Mix all dry ingredients for the Easiest Chocolate Chip Cookie
- 1/2 C Oatmeal (ground in a blender/food processor)
- 2 1/4 C Flour
- 1 1/2 t Baking Soda
- 1/2 t Salt
- 1/4 t Cinnamon
Combine other ingredients and mix well
- 1 C Butter (softened)
- 3/4 C Brown Sugar
- 3/4 C Sugar
- 2 t Vanilla
- 1 t Lemon Juice
- 2 Eggs
Add dry ingredients to wet mixture and combine well,
Mix in 3 Cups/1 bag of chocolate chips and/or other add-in, stir well; drop spoon fulls on to baking sheet; for crispier cookie – bake 13 minutes; for a softer cookie – bake 10 minutes!
This recipe makes 2 dozen cookies depending of course on how big you make the cookies!
No matter what combination of add ins I use, they are always a crowd pleaser and leave my guests wanting more and saying “oh these are great!!!” Find your own favorite combinations. I buy my cookie ingredients from Walmart.
