  • Best Hiking:
    • Artist Point has a short hiking season and hiking trails are accessible for less than 3 months. It is possible to drive through the Ski Area up to Artist Point, where anywhere you look, you can see beautiful sceneries over the 3 Mounts – Baker, Shuksan and Herman. It has a 1 mile hiking loop.
    • Chain Lakes Loop Trail is 8 miles is has swimming and has an elevation gain of 1700 feet. Looking for a challenge in a day’s hike, here is where you want to go. There are tasty blueberries along the trail in late Summer. Wild flowers in early Spring and amazing colors in the Fall.
  • Best Waterfall:
    • Nooksack Falls: A thundering waterfall is just a short drive off of Mount Baker Highway (542) and is right next to the parking lot. Be careful as there are many signs of the number of people who have fallen in. There is a chainlink fence next to the trails, but we would advise not to lean on it.
  • Camping: At Silver Fir Campground – Spots line up against creeks that flow into the North Fork Nooksack River and is only 14 miles from Glacier, WA. 15 of the 21 spots are reservable, there is a picnic shelter, vault toilets, and water available. $16 per night.
