Fall Activities – Celebrate “Twilight” the movies
If you and your family love Twilight, take a trip to Forks and La Push. Here you will find the backdrops featured in the modern day love story between a vampire and a human – Twilight – written by Stephenie Meyers. You can look through the movie props and costumes, take a walk through the timber town and discover scenic beaches. There is a two-day Forever Twilight in Forks celebration in September.
Ever wanted to take a tour of a real farm? Enjoy the locally grown food, fiber and farm-made products on the Olympic Peninsula Taken it all in on the Jefferson County Farm Tour which showcases a dozen or more farms accompanied by live music and kid’s activities. This is a two-day event in September.

Winter Activities To Do When You Visit the Olympic Peninsula
Get in some snow fun at Hurricane Ridge. They have skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing and tubing and have been around for 60 years. There is a small scale snow play area perfect for beginners, which is used by the school. Discover a fairyland world of icicles and snow.
On a wet wintery day, take a tour through Makah Cultural and Research Center in Neah Bay. You will find replicas of cedar longhouses and whaling and fishing canoes. There are also artifacts in this museum which are from the world-renowned Ozette archeological dig from 1966-1981 that unearthed remains of a Makah whaling village that are more than 300 years old.
Spring Activities to do when you visit the Olympic Peninsula
Visit the Olympic Peninsula to see all of the many celebrations of water. Which include beautiful waterfalls that will take your breath away. The Olympic Peninsula Waterfall Trail is a magical, misty tour that you will always remember!!
In this region you will find rugged terrain, glacier-carved waterways, coastal cliffs and valleys. They all provide a perfect landscape for many different waterfalls. So when you combine that with the Olympic Peninsula’s abundant rain and snow fall; and some help from gravity, you will see some spectacular arrays of water displays.
The waterfall adventure is for all ages and walking abilities in every season. You will find many types of adventures offered year round from the coast to the rain forests to the mountains. Some with paved, wheelchair accessible pathways. One of them is at Madison Falls. There are also many splendid forest trails. Some of these areas can only be reached by back country routes or by boat. You can see roaring rivers and thundering falls created by snowmelt and showers
You can take a hike with the elk! The Hoh Rainforest is a great spot to see herds of Roosevelt Elk, especially during springtime. Also, try participating in a guided hike so you can learn more about these grand animals. They are the beasts of these forests. You will also learn about the old-growth temperate rainforest ecology.
Summer Activities
There is the Olympic Discovery Trail you must see when you visit the Olympic Peninsula. You can feel the warmth and dangle your feet in a cool pool at the base of a waterfall.
Discover the quaint seaside town of Port Townsend which is near the Pacific Ocean at La Push. It is a 130-mile Olympic Discovery Trail (ODT) which offers a year-round route for adventurers who want to experience the North Olympic Peninsula on bike, horseback or even on foot. Non-motorized visitors have access to more than half the trails. About 80 miles of the ODT are complete, but it is possible to travel from Port Townsend to La Push at current time by using a combination of complete trail segments and existing roads.
Pick one of the trail regions or cover all four. Wind through farms, fields and and historic towns. Traverse rivers, rails and ravines. And take in the splendor the Olympic Peninsula offers—the snowcapped Olympic Mountains, the Strait of Juan de Fuca shoreline, peaceful lakes and forested foothills. There’s easy trail access at multiple points, and Olympic Peninsula attractions, dining and lodging are usually just a short side trip away.
Visit the Olympic Peninsula Where There are Trails For Everyone
It is a 28-mile stretch from Blyn to Port Angeles, and provides hikers and bikers with a variety of experiences—from a New England-style covered bridge, which is actually a repurposed rampway from an old ferry terminal, to a 200-acre forest research farm and the Dungeness River Interpretive Center. There is a totem-pole train which displays more than 40 hand carved totem poles. Totem poles are scattered through out the area. Most of the totems are accessible via the Olympic Discovery Trail and local bike paths.
